Today is a huge day for me. While I continue to work a 9-5, it’s clear that I have other talents that I need to be sharing and ways that I can serve people. More importantly, I feel a huge need to do this. I told a friend the other day who had a slight breakdown at work that she needed to start considering building her own business because she has so much to offer. I asked her, “how long are you going to make the rest of us wait until you start sharing the best of you?” I feel like I need to take my own advice there.
Today I’m beginning to offer my musical services to the world. With over a decade of experience in songwriting, recording, producing, and managing a Do It Yourself (DIY) band, it’s about time I started sharing more of those talents with the world and started helping out people who would benefit from my experience.
I’m offering four primary services, which you can read all about on the new Services page.
1) #songsbyrequest for free: I’m going to continue to take songs by request for free from time to time. The idea is, if you share a personal story with me I’ll randomly select someone to write a song for! Join the Marc Allred Music Facebook page to know the next time I’m taking requests. See previous #songsbyrequest.
2) #songsondemand $85-$100: Delivery time 1 week. If you just can’t wait to be randomly selected for #songsbyrequest, you can pay to get your very own song. Fill out an order form to get started!
“A couple of the lines in this song are feelings pulled straight from my heart that I don’t think I have ever verbalized out loud before. Man this is cathartic. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent.”
-Kirstin Forsberg Reed Your Heartbeat Saved Me
“Nailed it. You are oh so talented!” -Brooke Iverson Bagley You’re Tired, You’re Old
3) Jingles (contact me for pricing and delivery time): Professional quality music to help brand and promote your business.
“He is amazingly talented and if you’re looking for an increase in business give him a call because this jingle has been way successful!” -Heber Henke owner of The Mattress Outlet in Farmington, NM
“This has been so much fun for us, and we appreciate your dedication to follow through with what you promised.” -Laura Paustenbaugh from the Visual Art Institute in Salt Lake City, UT
4) Consulting $50: Book an hour-long Skype session to discuss songwriting or DIY band management.
I think we often become accustomed to our strengths and talents. That makes it hard for us to recognize that we have something of value to share with the world. The first time I showed Your Failure Makes Me Happy to one of my co-workers, he stood up and gave me a huge bear hug. He said, “if you’re still here a year from now working with me, you’re stupid.” I’m glad he helped me realize, not everyone knows how to write and share music. I hope today is the beginning of something great, not just for me, but for those of you I can help with music!
